The Olderman & Hallihan Agency was founded by Samuel Olderman in 1929, originally known as The Samuel E. Olderman Agency. In 1960, Samuel’s son, Richard, joined the agency, learning the business from the ground up alongside his father.

In 1970, Richard convinced his childhood best friend, Tom Hallihan, to leave Travelers Insurance Co. and join him at the agency. At that time, the business was renamed The Olderman & Hallihan Agency, marking the beginning of a partnership that continues to this day.

Today, the agency is owned and operated by Howard Olderman and Sean Hallihan, who together bring 49 years of experience in the insurance industry. Both are proud members of the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) association. Howard served as PIA president from 2010–2011 and received the PIA Agent of the Year Award in 2012.

Howard is a dedicated supporter of the local YMCA and has served as an Adjunct Professor at Goodwin University in East Hartford, CT. Sean is actively involved in youth sports programs in Guilford and coaches his children’s ball teams.
